When?... summer? ... The Finger Lakes are somewhat seasonal so your dates are fairly important for planning...

Lake Chautauqua would be a better choice than Geneva on the Lake. Where are you coming from?

Joane, how about Niagara Falls area? There is a casino for night life and nice hotels. You can tour the area. You don't mention where you are, but this would be within driving distance of Ohio. Have to Geneva on the Lake, it's for families, would think 4 women, no matter the age, would be bored. But, if you go, visit some of the wineries in the area.

Another vote for Niagara on the Lake/Niagara Falls. I saw a nice B&B in Niagara on the Lake with a swimming pool. The hotels in Niagara Falls have indoor pools. Not totally sure what you are looking for exactly though for swimming and where you are coming from. Niagara Falls is a 3 hour drive for me (east side of Cleveland). Lake Chautauqua is about 1.5 hours, and Finger Lakes I believe were 5 hours for my parents one year (but those are big and has different distances depending where you stay).

I don't really know of anywhere in Geneva on the Lake with a pool. There is a nice winery on the Lake though that has rooms also that look very nice. It's small though.
