Fun, reasonable food in Philly

While my husband and I are real foodies, and are okay with paying for it for the most part, we are dining with friends who are more cost conscious. Looking for a restaurant that will please all of us. Was considering something that looks more "fun" like Alma de Cuba or El Vez or perhaps a BYOB to keep prices down (Audrey Claire or Figs). We stay around Rittenhouse Square. Any suggestions would be great. Many restaurants do not put their prices on their online menus so choosing has been difficult. Ideally entrees around $20 would be great.
Thanks!

I like Loie for brunch and sitting outside when the weather is right.

128 S. 19TH STREET
PHILADELPHIA, PA 19103
PHONE: 215.568.0808

Also the Jamaican Jerk Hut on South and around 16th, good ethnic food, area a little iffy, fine at lunch, take a cab at night if you don't know the area.

If you venture over to Old City, Pizzacato is good creative moderate Italian.

Warm Daddy's for great southern/soul food at great prices and some red hot jazz to go along.

Matyson is an excellent BYOB, and would be my first choice. Entrees are more in the mid-twenties range though.

Also in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood is a new small plates place with sophisticated food called Snack Bar.

For something fun, and inexpensive, there is Cantina el Cabbalita just south of Broad on Passyunk. Or maybe Lolita a Mexican BYOB on 13th Street. Let us know where you go and if you enjoyed it. Have fun.

I really like Monks Cafe for their fine selection of Belgian beer and excellent mussels and frites.

For snacks and drinks Tria would be the best selection. Also if you like sushi then Raw would be your best bet. Ten Stone on 21st and south has great food burgers and sandwiches and a fine selection of beer, howeer slightly pub like. Effies is a mediteranian BYob and is great. Good luck there are soo many to chose from!
