The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is charming.

Baseball at Fenway or travel up to Lowell to see the Red Sox minor league affliate - the Spinners.

Explore the Harbor Islands - Georges etc

Shopping on Newbury St.

Eating in the South End or the North End.

Explore Cambridge - Havard Sq and also Central Sq.

Venture up to Cape Ann - great antiquing in Essex. Crane's Beach in Ipswich is beautiful.

Have a drink in the bar of the restaurant at the top of the Prudential Building. Great views of Boston, especially at night. You can access the building from the Shops at Prudential Center, a mall in the Back Bay on Boylston Street. Also nice is the Bristol Lounge at the Four Seasons Hotel -- great burgers (although a little on the expensive side). In the North End, try Giacomo's or the Daily Catch. Boston has lots of great restaurants and fun things to do. As other people have said, let us know what you like to do, and we can give you more specific information. Whatever you decide to do, you will have a wonderful time!

A truly unique cool thing is the maparium inthe christian science center. Its a room whose walls are a stained glass map of the world circa the 1920s and it has strange acoustics. I think a walk on the mass ave bridge looking towards boston on a clear day or night is really nice and strolling on beacon hill down its narrow streets is fun and romantic. THe north end the italian section is great for meals and cafes, zillions of places and very european feeling. i also love the harbor cruises at sunset or a whale watch from the aquarium. hope this helps. j

Not hidden, but Faneuil Hall is fun wth a few great restaurants and alot of so-so- and alot of bars alfresco for people watching. During the day, there might be jugglers, mimes and other entertainers and lots of shops.It's not just tourists that crowd this playground of ours.

When my husband and I were dating, we used to like walking around in the Back Bay--down Newbury Street, over to Beacon Hill, traipsing through the Gardens and Commons. It's a glorious city for strolling. We also enjoyed heading over to the North End, which is the old Italian neighborhood. It has such an old-world feel to it. Walk right into Mike's Pastries while you're there and buy yourselves a delicious cannoli. Yum!

Walking the Freedom Trail is fun as is the Duck tour. I recommend both!

On Sunday afternoons (summer only), they block part of Memorial Drive between Central Square and Harvard Square and make it car-free so that pedestrians, bikers, and roller-bladers can enjoy. It's right by the Charles river and you can rent roller blades. Some people just come out and read, and some get a tan lying on the grass, etc. I like having brunch on Sunday at Harvard Sq. and just walk over there.
