GoT ~ Nick! I know I loved him too, he did some guest commentating in Torino during the Ice Skating competitions. He still teaches. He was the best!

Did you watch this past Wednesday? I absolutely loved Michael's little white dress, it was all made of coffee filers, the entire thing! I thought his was the most creative without using fabric of any kind.

This should be a great season. I love it that Bravo runs reruns all the time, you are right starrville, that way if you aren't around you don't miss it.

I missed season one, and then started watching season two. I didn't know if I would like it or not, but it is an excellent behind the scenes and I became addicted. I LOVE how creative they all are ALL the time.

Tim Gunn is the best! Make it work!

OWJ, I am excited for you buying baby furniture! If you buy it they will come.

Tiff, you are so funny--I LOVE Tim Gunn, too, and I CANNOT get Santinos impersonations of him out of my head! "Andre....." LOL! Well, I am a little batty you know. ;-)

OWJ--A neighbor is in the process of adopting two little girls from Russia. They are weeks away from going for the final trip to bring them home. I always think of you when our neighbor tells us about the process and all that is involved.

Rave: It is Friday and the problem my family and I have been dealing with is over, and although "we" didn't start the problem we closed it, thanks to our family's great lawfirm. Justice does prevail.

Rant: People that go out of their way to cause lots of stress and legal fees when they could have picked up the phone and made a phone call which would have eliminated all of this nonsense.

Rave: The Do Not Call list. I haven't had any solicitations since I registered with it except..

Rant: Charities and political groups are exempt.

Rave: The amusing way Fodorites handle solicitation phone calls, too funny!

Rant: The problems in the Middle East, it just keeps getting worse and worse.

Rave: All the good news; ElendilPickles daughter & SIl's renewal of vows this weekend. Blessing to them EP! And ethel's honeymoon which will be in PV, I am sure you two will love PV ethel! And the doctors getting to the cause of your father's medical problem, fantastic!!

And OWJ picking out baby furniture, may it be put to use ASAP dear friend. You are always in my heart regarding this subject as you know.

CAPH's husbands excellant medical report..another good news report for you, your husband and your children CAPH.

And yes, the news on the Europe Board regarding Mimi's husbands. May he now be on the road to recovery and may they be able to take that trip to France.

And JJ5, may your dear mother rest in peace. 500 people are certainly a testament as to how loved she was. I am glad you are getting away, take a big breath and allow yourself some "free time" just for you. It is well deserved.

To everyone dealing with difficulties, may you be strong through the storm and may you be able to smile when the sun comes out behind the clouds.

Happy weekend to all of you wonderful Fodorites and a welcome to StephCar! And happy travels to all of you that are leaving on trips. Enjoy ever precious moment!

LoveItaly: What wonderful news for your family! That's great to hear!

My rant: Yesterday I saw my first black widow spider EVER! It scared the bejabbers out of me, though it was just minding its own business.

Bigger rant: After kicking my volunteering up a notch, I'm now in a position where I'm reluctant to be out of town for more than three days running, so I won't be taking any real trips before next summer at the earliest.

My rave: With voice recognition software, my e-mailing, posting here, etc., is going much faster.

Bigger rave: I've long had a (pipe) dream about making a gift to my local museum. Today I got some information about prices for the type of antiquity I'm interested in, and the prices are much lower than I had feared. It will probably still be a gift out of my estate (eventually--a posthumous gift), but it can be a much nicer gift than I thought.

OWJ, I did not know you and OWJ2 were trying to adopt! My good friends are also going down that road!

He is one of our golf pros at work (and my tennis partner) and his wife is Mr.GoTravel's CPA.

They are trying domestic first then international.

I'm sending prayers, good wishes, and lots of positive thoughts your way!

OWJ:

Good luck with the adoption process. My husband is adopted (domestic) and has the best parents in the world. I have several co-workers who adopted babies from China and Guatemala. By all accounts they were great experiences.

I just saw the references to Tim Gunn and Project Runway. I laughed hysterically during that episode last season..."Where are you Andre? Let's go to Red Lobster."

I LOVE that show and Tim Gunn. Make it work!

Tiff, wanna play Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon?

I have met both Tim Gunn and Jay McCaroll on occasions that have nothing to do with Project Runway.

My ex-husband, Tom, punched Jay in the face at a party about 8 years ago. (Tom's friend owns a jewelry store next to Jay's used clothing store in Dallas, PA.) Both were really drunk and Tom made fun of the way Jay was dressed.

I used to work in the frock trade in New York. I have met Tim Gunn on several occasions at various functions/shows. My sister, a graduate of FIT, and the ex-head-fabric buyer for THE LIMITED also has met Tim.

I also once sat next to Heidi Klum at a restaurant in Manhattan. She was absolutely horrible. I wanted to get up and move because she was such a b*tch to her companion and the waiter. She knows a lot of English curses for a German.

I agree with your rant about the complaints on the Euro board, chicagolori. I'm sorry, but I just don't get people who complain about threads like that. First of all, no one's making them open the thread. Secondly, I think it's really short-sited not to understand how much this board gains from them. But, bottom line, it's no skin off their nose, why the h*^ll do they care?

chicagolori, DO NOT get into a debate with FauxSteMarie. She is really Lauren S Kahn, a notorious Fodorite. She is the arch-enemy of Thingorjus, St. Cirq, Marilyn, and Elaine. She will stalk you if you entice her enough. She is the Hannibal Lechter of Fodor's. The members of the Inner Circle hold up garlic cloves and wolf bane when she appears.
