annuals here in Vancouver.

Rave: Grandbaby had first b'day this week. Such a joy!

so far - the BEST news!

Rave: Off on a two week roadtrip from
Vancouver down the Coast to San Diego
with a detour to stay with good friends
in Tustin.

Rave: not having to weigh my luggage
'cause we're driving! It's ALL carry-on
LOL!

Rave: deciding b/w Kauai and Maui for
November 40th anniversary.

Rave: planning Spring 06 trip to Italy
and parts of France.

Rant: FAR too much time sitting here at
the computer.

Whooo hoooo, Jor! Great news!

Rave: Dh decided not to buy the car he looked at last night - he had second thoughts that were confirmed this morning.

Rant: I get to be the one to go and get the deposit back. :-\

Rant: I don't want to feel rushed into buying a car.

Rave: I found good rental deals in case we need to go that route.

Rant- I work in a department that spends more time writing vision and mission statements than they do practicing them. We've been writing them for weeks now.

Rave- I have a job

Rave: Jorr's great news! (congratulations jorr!!!)

Rave: Flew to California last weekend to see me mum!

Rant: Had to bury a friend on Mother's Day in California.

Rave: As strange as this sounds, the wake was wonderful. Even his widow got up to dance. As the Irish bandleader said, "You know you've celebrated the passing right, when the widow gets up to dance."

Just want to say congrats on your results, jor! I've been there recently myself with much head pain, traveling to the US to get tests done, and know the relief that you feel when all is well. I agree with OO, party at jor's house tonight! Great news for you!

Rant- Just came back from my last PTA luncheon at my kids' school. After 13 years, I hate to leave the wonderful parents and staff behind.

Rave: the school will still be there. I just won't have any kids attending. And I have some really wonderful friends from all the committees, field trips, carnival work and other activities.

Rave: Still 3 more weeks till graduation, and I get to be with the kids at the after grad party that night!

Rave: Had a productive week.
Rant: Still have too many other things I need to accomplish.
Rave: Our local Travis AFB is not on the BRAC closure list.
Rant: For the second year in a row GlassyWing Sharpshooter eggs have been discovered in the Crepe Mytrle trees across the street from me. Since they can destroy all the vineyards we will be getting sprayed again. Why across the street from me, out of all of Solano County I ask?

Rave: Summer is almost here and school will be out.

Rant: Youngest grandson will start highschool in September, they grow up to quick.

Rave: Friends that have had frustrations and worries have got everything worked out this past week.

Rant: The budget crises in our public schools. Hurts everyone, the community, the students and the teachers.

Rave: All the beautiful people here on Fodors.

Rant: The weekend trolls.

Rave: All the people that have recently received good news regarding their health.

Rant: My dear friend of 50 years that is not going to survive her cancer. And she is being so brave. My heart is broken.

Happy weekend to everyone. Wishing you blue sky, sunshine, the company of those you love and no worries.

RAVE: Today is the best day I've had in 18 months. I got my labs back. When I moved circumstances were such that I could not take my big dogs. I'm now living in a perfect place for big dogs and they came "home" today! I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have that big hole in the heart filled again.

No room for Rants today (even though I did have a flat tire in the middle of busy traffic with two wired labs in the car. Even that experience turned out great!

Love and sloppy kisses from two happy labs...make that three...it appears the neighbor's dog has moved in too!

Just found out that there is an Equine Influenza virus ( horse flu) that has "jumped" across species to greyhounds..here in Fl, dogs are dying.
Tomorrow we will have to be sure that Pup is not in any danger .. it is a cross species jumping flu ( sort of like the Avian thing that people are getting in Asia)...very worrisome.

Starrsville, smooches
