Rave--Had my dad here this week for a visit.

Rave--The lab tests for a lump that was removed on our Golden Retriever came back with great news! Just a benign lump and the vet got it all.

Rave--Statia's test results

Rave--Had a fun weekend in Seattle last weekend. Got to see many old friends and the kids picked right up with their old friends too. True friendships are amazing!

Rave--Our month or so of stress is gone. We have a reprieve in medical tests for a while.

You are so very welcome.

You will have a ball in Chicago and I hope you catch one, as well.

There were just under 30,000 (29,670) at The Cell last night on a cold, rainy weekday night- so you may not be the only one coming to both. Hope we can park where we always do. We are such creatures of habit. And all of a sudden the (you know who)fans are starting to come South. Yes, they are. uuuuuummmmm!
Well, beer sales will be way way up if that keeps up.

Rant: I do have one. Property TAX Bill in Will County. (Now I will be paying for 2 brand new high schools in 1 state and 1 in another). And when I moved to the farm land they said it would never happen. It's a good thing I am for education. The way we fund it is ridiculous.

RaveO came through surgery swimmingly.I was the "private duty nurse" pre and post op. We were both exhausted after same. It made me rethink how stressful it must be to have loved ones in the hospital when you are unfamiliar with the environment of same or navigating its system. We've both worked in healthcare for over 25 years, had a relatively certain outcome going into it all and it was still intense.

Rave: dear friends who have called, come by, offered meals, brought good books and generally showered us both with love.

Rantquot;MIL" who drove me round the bend through it all. It's made me rethink the concept of a "concerned mother".
OyOyOy!!!

Rave:the fireplace is done and looks beautiful.

Rant:4 day stretch at the hospital starting today.

Rave: Seattle for a long weekend next Friday.

So many raves today!

J_M, we head to England and Wales in Sept...5 long months away! Where will you be going?

RAVE: DH's horrible working hours are over as of today. He'll be whipping up some margs and burgers on the deck this afternoon!

No Rants...happy Friday everyone!

RAVE: FINALLY! It's the Friday before we leave for Italy (on Sunday)!!!

Rant: threatened United strike if not for trip over, then for trip back on Memorial Day.

Rant: I'm NOT READY, am in that sleepless mode with details jumbling into my head at odd hours, so draggy and unfocused all day.

Rave: Rigged or not, I'm glad Uchenna and Joyce won Amazing Race.

Rave: a week of very clement weather here in the Triangle, the better to enjoy the slow change from spring to summer -- trees all darker green now, all filled in. When we get back from Italy, it'll probably already be full summer with all that that implies in NC.

Jor: have had an erstwhile dog bring in something so much more disgusting that I'll spare us all; and cat brings in vole-tartare delicacies for my approval every spring. Good thing they're cute!

Rave: My son turns 7 on Sunday, and we're taking him and three friends to Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast and a few hours at Disneyland.

Hi, Ani. We are going to spend some time in York, the Lake District, and Wales. I have reservations for the first few nights of the trip, since it's Bank Holiday weekend there, otherwise we plan to just wing it. I think it's more fun that way.

This board has been a big help in planning this trip.

Otto:
I was in retail management for thirty years, and then went into industrial sales until I retired in '98. Sales was a new life for me. No more working nights, holidays, Sundays, or 80+ hour weeks beteen Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I live in the northern end of the Shenadoh Valley.

Ryan:
He was right, the sun was wicked in the Carrib. We had two training trips to Gitmo in '52. Did real bad on the first one and were told that if we failed the second time, we wouldn't be going to Korea or the 'round the world cruise.

We never received any accolades for our time in Korea, except a brief mention in the NY Times when we destroyed an enemy supply train in North Korea. We were lucky, only fired on once and we missed the floating mines.

Rave: A wonderful Mother's Day! We saw Hello Dolly at our local theater, went to church and had a nice BBQ with my brother, mom and dad his family.

Rave: Just returned from two glorious days in Carmel. We loved the La Playa Hotel, the beautiful Carmel beach, shops, Bouchee, Forge in the Forest and Wickets (Bernardus Lodge).

Rave: The ice plants in PG are so pretty, we had a nice time walking the paths along the shoreline there.

Rave: Made a new friend while lounging by the pool at La Playa. She turns out to be an Executive Chef at one of the major restaurants in SF. It was a pleasure meeting her!

Rave: Our mango/avocado/prawn salad at Wickets was so yummy DH made it for me last night. What a pleasant surprise that was! He's a great chef!

Rave: The Wine Country in Carmel Valley. Loved Bernardus and Chateau St. Julien for their merlots and pinot noirs.

Rave: DD qualified for the CIF Championships yesterday in 4 Events! Big meet tomorrow, then water polo training starts! Healthy girl!

Rave: Planning out trip to the Oregon Coast and Vanouver, BC. Should be a nice time!

Rave: Riding my Del Sol Beach Cruiser with my future daughter-in-law and Vizslas in tow. She's great fun to be around is getting so excited about her upcoming wedding to a great guy!

Rave: So glad to hear of the no injuries to a previous poster's daughter. We have had two big accidents. One was a roll-over in a BMW on the freeway with no seat belt and not a scratch. The other involved hitting a tree at 60 mph and just a pulled muscle in the back. Angels are watching over our babies.

Rave: It's the weekend! Happy Friday and Happy travel planning! ***kim***

Rave: I am sooooo happy! I posted FFR&R last night because I knew I would be really stressed out this morning. I had a series of three CT scans this morning to check for the return of Malignant Melonoma from 1987. No Cancer Anywhere!!!!!! I was going through Hell waiting for the radiologist to tell my doctor the results. I am so relieved. All the previous blood tests came back good too. Haven't had a chance to read any of your posts yet.

ahhhhh!!!!!!!

JORR: That is awesome news!!! Thanks for letting us share in your celebration!

BONNIEBROAD: So sorry to hear about your sister. What a dreadful disease. If you'd like to write your congressman you can go to this link and follow the directions to send a pre-written letter. The bill requests grant money for groups like mine to request for raising awareness (it will also fund public announcements).
