I guess I shouldn't have called them *girlie-men*, cmcfong! God must have noticed!

Oh, well, we'll see how the Tar Heels do in the NCAA tournament. Your guys gave the Dukies a good game today ... we can be happy about that!

Rave: I am talking travel again...it makes me happy.

Rant: wasted 6 months married to someone who had zero truthfulness in her. all lies and deception. she can get her green card. but i am glad i didn't find out longer and waste more of my life. now she denies everything and wants to make it work because she knows that i control her GC...shoe is now on MY foot. i just have to get over the emotions of being in love with her and now walk...no run away. i forget that she was just playing a role...fooled me obviously.

being devestated sucks...but better now than later. i did and tried everything to make it work...i was too naive. but better that i am the better person. how could someone be like this? why? how can she live with the guilt...it would be too much for me.

well, ucsun, this IS the place for ranting and hopefully soon you will have some raves. This sounds like a fairly recent happening so let it out and then release it because she and the situation will "own you" until you can let it go. Time for you to start traveling again.

Rant: I raised $1.5 mil for my workplace, but all the credit is going to someone who should have raised this money in the first place. Fundraising is not in my job description.

Rant: My boss never credits me, he always credits everyone around me, even though I do his job, and everyone else's. I'm sure he'll remember my enormous role when I leave.

Rave: I'm studying to take my GMAT. I'm going to business school 5 years too late, but better late than never.

Rave: I've applied to help my colleagues in Italy on their research work. I've always wanted to work in Italy in some way and this is great transition work...if I get it.

To all who had a rant, my thoughts go out to you. ucsun, I'm glad you found out now and not later. I have a friend who's going through the exact same thing right now in L.A. The b*tch left him the minute she got her green card and left him devastated.

Hope all your loved ones get better soon, and broken hearts get mended.

Oh ucsun, that is such a horrible feeling, to know that one has been taking advantage of. I am so sorry.

A trip, if possible, would it help? Maybe somewhere quiet if you need to reflex on your life. If so, somewhere in the Dolomities (Italy) can sure bring peace. Or if you need a busy vacation, than a lovely city in Europe, to help get your mind off of what you have been through. Both type of locations have worked for me in time of stress and heartbreak. My very best wishes to you. And don't forget "what doesn't kill us makes us stronger". Please believe, it is true.

Rant: Had a small disagreement with 21 year old daughter temporarily home from college, not getting along too well. Mother/daughter issues. DH, D and I never went out to dinner. Ended up eating leftovers.

Rave: 43 year old friend told me she is two months pregnant with 4th child. Big surprise for her. She had me laughing so hard that I literally peed in my pants!

Rave: Found you guys on this site!

ucsun, I am sorry for what you are going through. What doesn't kill us does make us stronger and I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. As always, I love and agree with LoveItaly's advice. I hope you find peace and resolution.

Hi ucsun ~ She doesn't deserve you, hold your head up high, don't sink to her level and walk on good man, WALK ON!

We may not have been in your exact situation but sadly I bet most of us have had some type of love loss, just keep telling yourself it is better that you have found out now. Liars are the worst and they rarely change.

Glad you have your wits about you, stay strong! You best revenge is to live a fulfilling and happy life, don't look back!

Rant: I was supposed to do my taxes today.

Rave: DW and I went to town today and I bought a pair of Keen Venice H2's for our trip to Italy in June. We didn't even go to town for that.

Rant: I felt guilty over the purchase.

Rave: I got over the guilt by trying on my travel clothes.

Welcome back, ucsun! I saw your post on the Europe board. I hope you find the perfect spot for that much needed trip!

Good luck with that GMAT, mcnyc! It's not easy to go back to school. You deserve a lot of credit for that.

Rave: Oh the possibilities of being 25.

Rant: Oh, the uncertainty of being 25.

mcnyc, a few years ago I worked in an office with a guy named Larry. He kissed up to anyone he could to take credit for other people's work. I never knew what the term Brown Noser meant until a co-worker said it about him. I caught Larry telling several lies about me and others as well as taking credit for my ideas and work.

I finally got him caught with his foot in this mouth one day when I finished a proposal for a large project. Larry told me it was terrible and it wouldn't fly. I prsented my proposal to the owner of the company in an office meeting. The owner loved it and Larry said he also thought it was a great proposal and started taking some credit for it. In front of the entire group I turned to Larry and said Larry, this morning you told me you hated it and it wouldn't fly!

Ol Larry had it comming and few people thought it would not be me to give it to him.

If you let it slide when people take credit for your work it gives them an ivitation to walk all over you the next time.

Rave: I start my new job in a week and will get a lot more time off to travel. Yipee!

Rant: My boss was not too pleased when I put my 2 weeks notice in. He actually tried to start a fight with me but backed down when I repeated all his fine advise and feedback. Not my faught the owner of the company asked what happened, I only told the truth.

ucsun, you and my friend should talk! But oh...what a story he'd tell you! He's gay (he told her up front), he wanted a family, she claimed she loved him and wanted his children despite his sexual orientation (he promised never to cheat on her with a man and swore them off). They moved to L.A. and then she left him. The sad part was she's the first woman he's ever loved in that way. The last one too, I suspect. At least he was honest with her, despite what others may think of him and his motives/desires. He's a great guy and will make a great father one day. I kinda saw it coming in a sense. Boy, I live in a soap opera, don't I?

Jorr, I don't ever allow others to take credit for my work lying down. My temper would get in the way! I called my boss on it and he finally acknowledged me, half-heartedly. That's not the acknowledgement I want. His appreciation felt so fake, and the woman who he credited took all the credit without shame. Coworkers told me that she looked guilty during our press conference, which was announced in the NYTimes, but seriously...the gaul of certain people. Glad you called Larry out on his card too. I'm nice and sweet and young, but threaten me and I will bite back hard. I must admit though, this entire incident makes me doubt my abilities and chips away at my self esteem. After all, if at the workplace you look for approval from your boss, and your boss doesn't give it to you, it does give one a huge complex of self doubt.

Thanks Caph52. I just need my confidence back to apply for school. In keeping with my desire to travel, I'm looking for programs that specifically allow me one semester of study abroad!

Sassy27...congrats on your new job! Glad your boss backed down and let you leave without incident. I know bosses at my workplace that stall others from moving on, including mine. Mine isn't too keen on my pursuit of an MBA.

A big rave for the George Mason Patriots who are going to the big dance. A big rave also for Coach Larranaga who revived the program after it fell apart with the two previous coaches.

Oh my
God...I wouldn't normally post this late in the week. My life just kinda imploded. I just booked now EX boyfriend on one way flight back to NJ.Without freaking all of you out, I will admit comfortably to the Fodors family that I found out he spent his days not hunting for job as I thought, but online on less than Fodors quality websites-if you know what I mean.He is not interested in me,just wanted the relationship w/daughter(not biological)and thought I would not notice his total lack of interest in me....I have no problem kicking the pig to the curb, but I worry about daughter who is about to relose her Daddy, certainly for good this time. My second problem is the the new puppy- "Jeter". There is no way I can support him and train propoerly being gone 12 hours a day. I must find him a new home asap, and I am crushed. I truly wonder how long it's going to take to "de-Daddy" daughter this time. I can't believe this happened.

klr: So sorry to learn your news, but it sounds like you did the right thing. Hope you and your daughter can get over him really soon!
Ever auction a puppy on E-bay? Maybe a 'free to good home' in the paper? However, I'll bet someone you know will be willing to take him off your hands!

Bless you!
