Well I'm not really happy about living in the cold, CaliNurse! Granted, our 34F. (west coast of Canada) isn't the same as Jorr's -21, but it's too cold for me.

Ah, I think I finally got the quail thing. quot;>

Thank you all for the well wishes. My stepfather is the only father I've known as an adult and I think of him as my father.

Rave: The good news for others who have had medical tests and proceedures.

Rave: bennnie- better and past having the gall bladder ordeal.

Rave: The Rifleman sequence on Jay Leno with Cheney's replacement face. That was funny.

Rant: Political whining.

Rant: Non-compliant patients where ever they be.

Rave: Good wine and another person who can take a turn at the wheel so I don't have to drive and can enjoy it.

Rant: Having to drive from here to eternity constantly between work and sick family.

Rant: Not being able to plan a vacation or any fun activities properly because of constant obligations.

Rave: No snow, just cold, so it is easier to eventually get there in one piece.

Have a good weekend all!

HEY! What's this about penguins having sex? Those lucky son-of-a-guns, lol

And Jorr, thanks for nothing! The winds are starting to howl and the temperatures are going to be frigid tonight!!! To think, just a week ago, we had nearly 2 feet of snow -- it's almost all gone, that's how warm it has been. We're in for it!

Rave: Scarlett's daughter's good news, GoT's stepfather's news, Bennie's recovery from surgery, and PM's booboo is better.

Rant: Tiff's posting problems!
Rave: LoveItaly keeping us informed!

CAPH, waiting to hear about your husband -- Sending you warm hugs and prayers your way...

Rant: Working with a young cohort of students with emotional disabilities. It's been a hair raising, chair throwing kind of week.

Rave: VACATION! Not going anywhere, but glad to have a week off to relax.

Rant: Feel very bad for some of these kids who find the highlight of their day is being IN school.

Rave: Going to the theater with our sons! Seeing the "Odd Couple" on Saturday night! I can't believe I ordered those tickets way back in October. Time certainly has a way of flying by!

I'm not sure if this is a Rant or Rave, lol After 7 years of studying German, I've decided to learn Spanish.

Rave: Bonnie's taking a trip! Have a great time with your DGD! I understand your packing pain, my dear!

Rave: The Orchid Show is coming to the NYC Botanical Gardens next weekend! It's my favorite show of the year!

Buffalogirl, we've got to figure out a way for your to take a vacation!

For all of you who are dealing with tough situations, may you find the strength you need to carry forward.

Safe travels everyone!

From lurking in the shadows rncheryl:

Rave: lovely couple of days in Orlando, no need for gloves, mufflers, thermal underware, etc. Had a good time, Epcot is always fun.

Rave: all who have good new from doctors/hospitals. I work for an insurance company as case manager, and do all I can to be patient advocate.

Rave: 75degrees here today.

Rant: one year anniversary of death of only sibling and almost anniversary of death of youngest son serving in USAF in 2005. Makes the rants somewhat subdued, but life moves along.

I just had to add late evening good wishes to GoTravel and Ani. (Or at least late evening in my part of the world).

Congrats to you, Ani! Here's to another one on the way.

GoTravel, I was very glad to hear of your good news. I also have a step-dad who is like my own, since I lost my own father at a very young age. Some men in our lives can be very wonderful, no matter what the relation. I hope he recovers with flying colors....and I'm sure he will.

Ani, I saw the pics of Riley in your vacation photos. If the second one is half as cute, then he/she'll be a real winner!!

mcheryl, my heart goes out to you.

Mycheryl, I just saw your post and I got a cold chill. I am so sorry, but saying "sorry" will never take away your loss and your pain dear one. There are no words that will. Having a military family and having deaths and serious injuries all I know what to say is that you, your dear son, and all of your family are in my prayers. I hope that you have had loved ones around you that have been supported and have helped you through this terrible loss. Blessings to you.

Scarlett,
BF saw something on TV about greenies the day before, and he was upset by whatever it was he saw.We had all "doggy junk food" packed in a bag to throw away-after we got home from a quick run to Winco...guess when Frankie got to the bag??(The one time we don't shut that door, I might add!) thanks for the link, I'll read it myself now.

How about this wind today?? Brutal!

P_M, glad you've recovered from your injuries!

Scarlett, so glad your daughter's results were good!

Have a great trip, Bonnie! And eat some of that great food for me too!

I'm happy to hear things went so well for your stepfather, GT!

I'm really pleased to hear your good report on your trip to NOLA, Byrd. We have such fond memories of our trip there in '01.

So glad to hear your father's doing well, wagonwheel2.

Sounds like a rough week at work, stw. As I've told you before, you have my admiration. I know how tough it can be working with "normal" students. It takes a special breed (who are earning their place in heaven!) to do what you're doing.

Hope your family enjoys the theater. But I know that, regardless of the quality of the play, you'll enjoy spending the evening together.

Congratulations, Ani! There can be no better news in the world than that of an impending arrival!

mcsheryl, my heart breaks for you. You sound like a very strong, brave person.

Rant: I waited until this evening to post 'cause I hoped we'd have some news. No call from the dr. I'm guessing we won't hear anything until Tuesday.

Rave: It's been three weeks since my husband's last chemo. I'm beginning to be able to see a difference. His appetite is definitely better. And I think he's looking better, less drawn.

Rave: We mailed our taxes nearly two weeks ago. I finished the FAFSA and Profile yesterday! Don't think I finished them until March or April last year. What a load off my mind!

Rant: Long story short: Our daughter participated in a bone marrow drive at school in December. On Wednesday we received a letter from our insurance saying they'd been billed $2,919 which they wouldn't cover! I called them, they said we were liable for the charges. After many calls, most long distance, finally found out that the school has a fund to cover the costs. A very poorly handled situation on the part of the school!

Rant: The situation with the Olympic snow boarder who lost Gold. Seems to have been her own fault and that's a real shame. But what a tough lesson for a 20 year old to have to learn in front of the whole world. We all make mistakes at that age. But fortunately, for most of us, it's not so public!

Rave: Down a pound!

Rant: Have to lose at least 10 more before late April with a trip to Ireland in between! At my age, that's a real challenge!

Rave: A three day weekend!

Have a great weekend everyone!
