Oh Bonnie,

My Father died aged 63 in 2001 and I still resent the fact that he died so young.

I hope that you saw the post called 'Patrick's Mother' - I know the comma is in the wrong place but I don't care!

We posted poems that show how we feel about loved ones

Ease your grief, he is not gone
For in your heart he lingers on.
His smile, his laugh, his special way,
Will comfort you from day to day
You’ll feel his presence in the breeze
That dances gently through the trees.
And it’s his face that you shall see
When you’re in need of company.
At any time you can recall
The love you shared… you saved it all.
And really more than anything,
You’ll find peace in remembering.

LoveItaly posted a wonderful poem that I forwarded to my Mother.

Oh Alya, I am so touched that you sent the poem I posted to your mother. I hope it helped her as much as it did for me when the Priest read it at the burial ceremony for my husband.

Bonnie the poem/prayer is this:

Miss Me - But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free.

Miss me a little - but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me - but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone
It's all a part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds
Miss me - but let me go.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Bonnie. Your brother sounds like he was a wonderful man who will be sorely missed. You are in my thoughts.

Sorry, for you loss, Bonnie. Our siblings are the companions in life who are most closely apt to know us as we truly are. He sounds a wonderful person who you knew well. That will never leave you, and you will recognize him again.

I stayed away from the computer during the long weekend and when I returned this morning I was deeply saddened to hear about Bonnie's brother.

Bonnie--I am so truly sorry about your loss. In your post, although it brought great sadness, I could feel the love and pride you have for him. I am the oldest but my brother and I are very close. It's a special bond between a brother and sister. My heart aches for you. I hope that you find solace in knowing that if I could feel the way you felt about him, he surely felt it.

PM--hope your sister is doing better.
Caph--So glad to hear that your husband had his last chemo treatment. Hope he felt ok over the weekend.
