Fort Myers Food

I will be going to Fort Myers Beach soon and am looking for some recomendations for places to eat. We have a family of 4 so it would have to not be super expensive. I hear there are a lot of nice places and am just looking for some names. Thanks

For a casual lunch, you might want to try Sweet Tomato's at 14080 South Tamiami Trail (239-489-1150).

It's a self-serve place with a pretty incredible selection of fresh salads as well as food stations for pasta, soups, pizza, baked potatoes and desserts.

For a family, it's fast, inexpensive and everyone can find something they like on the menu.

try the Gulfshore out on Ft. Myers Beach. Locals love the breakfast there. I think the greek restaurant in Times Square is great for an inexpensive meal to watch sunset. One pleasant memory is of a large sailboat sailing just in front of a huge sun about to dive into the gulf. The greek food is very good, not great but the atmosphere more than compensates.

If feasible, head back over the bridge to Ft. Myers. You are on San Carlos, Look for the Fish Monger on your left and on the right in the strip mall is Hurricane Bay, continue on for a couple of miles and you'll find a nice Perkins. Also stop at The Love Boat on your right for great ice cream.

Charlie Browns, listed in AAA, salad bar, reasonable prices, always packed with people.

Is Charlie Brown's still there? If it is, that would be great! It does serve about the best food on the island. Good food; unfortunate that it is about the only one that has decent food, IMO.

Although it has been quite a while since I lived on Ft. Myers Beach, and not quite so long since I ate there -- my favorite used to be Snug Harbor, just to the right of the bridge as you cross over to Ft. Myers Beach. The last I knew they were building a new restaurant there. Any reports?
