fort myers beach - pink shell
Hey there, we are going to Fort Myers Beach in mid-May and we have a room booked at the Pink Shell (in the Sanibel View bldg), not the White Sands bldg. Does anyone have any thoughts on this place, or have you stayed here before?? Are these rooms nice?? I've heard a lot of good things, but...

We stayed there about 5 years ago - but have recently received several junkmailings from them indicating they demolished most of the old buildings and rebuilt everything - so have no idea. But at least you will know buildings are mostly new.

My family stayed in this building last Sept. when we were evacuated from Ft. Lauderdale right before the hurricane. It seemed to be the only available room on the west coast and I didn't know what to expect.Anyway, the room looked recently renovated and was really cute.Ours had all white beadboard furniture, 2 queen beds, armoire, small kitchenette, with cooktop,microwave,fridge.dishwasher,etc.The bed linens and towels were new and also good. We had a screened lanai overlooking the beach and there was a limited view of Sanibel Island. We didn't use the pools but the beach, although not to wide at this end, was good. There is a small market on the property which is right across the street where there are complimentary newspapers. We only stayed a few days but I enjoyed the resort and would go back.

Yeah, i will, not going until May 13th, but I too have seen a lot of good reviews on tripadvisor.com and my friend who lives in Naples, said that him and his wife stayed there for 1 night about a month ago and they loved it.
