The only thing I can tell you is that my son is the Executive Chef there. We are going to FL July 1, and will be stopping by the hotel. YOu can find the hotel site on line at Starwood and follow the links to the Atlantic. It is supposed to be lovely, and well taken care of. Of course, the food is excellent. Let me know what you decide at my e mail address [email protected].

I live close to the Atlantic(within walking distance) and have to say it is a gorgeous hotel! Only had lunch at Trina's(granniem , but it was excellent. David Caruso of CSI Miami fame has a condo there. Also, they have an agreement to host the stars that perform at Bank Atlantic center in Sunrise...so it must be VERY nice, yes?

Judy thank you for the compliment for my sons restaurant. Can't wait to tast the food there myself. He says he has no idea who lives there as most of the rooms are bought and rented out (investment) Sheraton does not own this hotel, just manages it. Malaysia please let me know if you go.

My husband and I stayed at the Atlantic last year. It is a beautiful hotel. We did not do dinner there but the breakfasts were very good. We had it included in our room. The rooms are beautiful and huge, the pool is rather small. I did find the service to be spotty. It is an expensive hotel and service could be better.

I just returned from two days at the Atlantic. It is just great. The rooms were very nicely appointed with every amenity...it is a condo hotel..large bathrooms...marble floors everywhere...the staff was very nice..very nice spa area...the pool is a little small...but no complaints here..overnight valet is steep...$27 per night...but all else was excellent. For..Granniem .I did not see your e-mail until after I returned..I would have said hello to your son and had dinner there...we only had cocktails at the bar and an appetiser.( which was good) we had reservations for dinner at Las Olas...I overheard a couple of local gals at the bar who were going in to dinner at Trina's and one of them was raving about how good it is. I am definitely going back!

Well, since I'm a "budget" person I've never eaten at Trina's myself, but it does sound like a nice place. Maybe you could invite me to join you when you visit your son's restaurant for dinner.

Budget4me- I would love to invite you but I can't afford to eat there myself, LOL. My son is only the Chef, not an owner (wish he were). Hopefully he will cook for me at his home.

I did a 15 day outlook for the weather in Orlando and saw that it was going to be in the 90's until the sunday I get there and then it will be in the 80's. What are you having a cold wave. LOL

We have been way above normal lately. Usually we'd be 89 for highs and 75 for lows this time of year. We almost set a new record high yesterday.

Our paper had a small writeup on Trina's yesterday and they mentioned the executive chef by name. The first name initial was an M, I believe. Would that be your son?

yes, Michael is my son. I got a review in the Miami Herald because I "googled" him, whenever our last name comes up I get it. Thank you.

3 more days till Florida Yipee!

A hot day in Florida is better than a cool day at work.
