Trip to Miami Beach-Hotel Ques

We were going to Cancun, but my husband wants to stay in the States. Can anyone suggest a nice motel on the beach in Miami Beach?

My husband and I had a business conference in Miami a few months ago at the Fountainbleau. We really enjoyed this lovely hotel. Make sure to ask for a room with a water view.

We want to lay on the beach, enjoy the warmth, shop and visit some interesting tourist attractions whatever they may be. We need to know a nice hotel also. In the middle of everything, like restaurant, etc., so that we can get to those while at the hotel. We can rent a car but while at the hotel would like to be in the middle of those things. We are flying from Wisconsin. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I enjoyed Lowes very very much. The Four Seasons looked smashing as well. Lowes had a beatiful robe and a great little suite with a pedicure kit.

What's your budget???

The Loews is the nicest we've stayed at, and the Royal Palm Crowne Plaza. A motel it's not! A hotel it is.

By the way, the Four Seasons is not near the beach, but it's supposed to be divine!

We're headed to Miami for a couple of days and are staying at the Clinton on South Beach. It looks nice and is in the middle of everything.

The Loews is a very nice hotel, but it's huge and rather anonymous. Stand in the lobby and look around; you could be ANYWHERE in the US (not much South Beach about it). The Royal Palm Crowne Plaza is quite nice as well.

If you're bothering to stay in South Beach and it's your first time, why not stay at one of the Deco grande dames? Might I suggest the National? Beautiful, historical, uniquely South Beach. If your budget doesn't allow that, some nice smaller hotels include the Park Central, the Cardozo (my personal favorite) and The Hotel (interior design by Todd Oldham). All have attached eateries-- and The Hotel's is especially great (Wish).

Tandoori_Girl, I've heard nothing but good things about the Clinton. My only hesitation is that it's on Washington, two blocks from the beach. But it's also Nightclub Central, with excellent bars and dance clubs up and down the street. I think you'll be quite happy.
