travelocity ?????
I booked a trip with Travelocity in June. The company cancelled the trip in the beginning of Nov. due to hurricane damage. It has been six weeks or more and no refund has been issued. On phone with them for 4 hours and two e-mails has not provided any help with a date for the refund. Anyone have insight to this frustrating experience.

"The Company"?
Who cancelled the trip? The hotel?
Was your trip prepaid? Was it a package? Did you have trip insurance?
You have given VERY LITTLE information.
There is a lot to this issue and Travelocity may or may not be liable for the refund.
Give us the details

This was a prepaid trip. The hotel was not able to open in time and Travelocity could not find another hotel that would work with them for a reservation. Travelocity had to cancel due to damage on the island. It was a package(included airfare). We did not have travel insurance. Travelocity will not give straight answers as to when refunds can be issued. However, as of 12/27, I received a credit to my card. The other 2 couples I booked with have not. It seems Travelocity is liable. If they're not, who is? We have never found any info. on refund policy from Travelocity if this type of incident occurs. Lesson learned about internet travel companys.

I would say you are lucky... I would imagine Travelocity worked on getting the refund from the supplier and when that not work out, they just issued it themselves. I think liability in unclear on this... and that Travelocity did the right thing.
