Football - nearby hotel

Hi Yall

We are heading to town for the Titans Saints game in September. We were wondering which area of town is the stadium, (is it called the Collisium?), are there any hotels nearby, say with-in walking distance.

Has any one been to a game. How early before the game should we arive and any other tips?

Thanks Bill

I failed to mention that the game is in Nashville. Thanks.

Bill,
You might want to put "Nashville" in your subject line...you'd probably get more results! Sorry I can't help you on this one, but if you ever get to Tampa or Pittsburgh for a game I could!

We went this past December to Titans/Patriots. We stayed at the Days Inn Coliseum and were able to walk to the Coliseum. The fact that it was walking distance was the ONLY good thing about it. The hotel was desperately in need of an overhaul and dirty. I didn't see any others that close to the Coliseum, but I'd recommend staying at a better place and getting a Taxi. We ended up tailgating at the Hard Rock Cafe then took a taxi to the game. Lots of fun! By the way, the Pats lost

I agree with the last person. I wouldn't stay near the Coliseum. They are trying to revamp that area of town by bringing in new businesses, but until the coliseum was there, it was not the nicest area of town.

The Coliseum is across the Cumberland River from the downtown area. I would stay somewhere downtown, West End or the Opryland area and drive dowtown. You can walk across the bridge. Or, there are bus shuttles from the Bicentennial Plaza area that drop you off at the gate. That's how we go.

We got there a half hour early and that seemed fine.
