Food advice in Miami and Florida keys

We will be flying to Miami and the keys next week. My husband loves lobsters and we wondered if there is any good place for lobsters in Miami and also Key West? We liked the Red Lobster restauarnts in Orlando & Tampa.
For vegetarian people, what is the best restuarant in Key west? All suggestions welcome
Thanks

The Palm has good lobster in Miami. Other seafood restaurants like Garcias or Big Fish have lobster as well.

English Lady-

IN Miami Beach, the best place for Seafood is Joe's Stone Crabs-a hop skip and a jump ( ie cab ride) from Miami proper..They specialize in Stone crabs but have all kinds of terrific seafood. Be forewarned-it is NOT cheap

The keys are very laid back and casual dining is always the best option. One possibility for Florida lobster is the City Fish Market in Marathon. Super casual waterfront dining with excellent quality.

My favorite restaurant on the way to Key West is Mangrove Mama's at mm 21. Should have great food for lobster lovers and vegetarians.

One of Key West's gems is the restaurant at Pier House. Waterfront view. Indoor and outdoor dining. All excellent quality including vegetarian fare. This place is a niche of serentiy in the midst of Mallory Pier madness.

Have fun!

Please let your husband know in advance that the lobsters in Florida are different from the cold water lobsters (Maine lobsters) that you get most places in the US. Florida has spiny lobsters - no claws but delicious tails. Other local fish you should try is yellowtail snapper (white fish, very delicate), grouper (a bigger fish, heartier) and dolphin (aka mahi mahi). This is a fish, not the mammal. Happy eating!
