I thought I was having a seventies kitchen flash back. Harvest Gold and Orange? Where is the Avacodo Green?

Seriously, I don't like the new text colors when you click on a thread or you look for your screen name on previous posts. Fodors turned them to light blue and grey instead of purple and red which was very easy to find.

Ok, it just took time to catch up with me. Now my "read" is in gray. Don't like it.

Did you all see on the home page how they are advertising that the fodors editors are talking w/us on the forums? Maybe we made such a big deal about it that they decided it was worth highlighting it. I also wonder how they pick the threads to highlight...

I really want the red back on the highlighted thread.

And now we have a solo travelers forum and "why we travel" (because it's all there?)-- and they went back and foudn old threads on those tiopics and transferred them to the new threads. Someone has spent some time researching our posts for new categories.

The comments here are so interesting to me. The former greens and blues have been described as "depressing," and some think these new colors are "easier on the eyes." I can't comprehend either of those comments, but it just goes to show that you certainly can't please everyone.

I like the format very much, but the color scheme makes me feel like I'm riding an Albuquerque city bus. What can I say, I'm a Winter...

cd, I'm glad you are now one of us.

I was just watching the sunset before logging on and realized why I like the new colors. They remind me of the orange sun setting over the blue ocean.

Well, I took a small piece of poster board, cut it to size, folded it in half, and hang over the upper left hand of my laptop screen, so that black spot of FODORS doesn't blind me. I can't stand the white flash before my eyes whenever I walk away from the screen.

I am having cataract surgery on my right eye on Monday. Think I might need the left eye done, too!! Ouch! It all hurts and I am blinded for sure.

LOL, this has been quite a funny thread. Minette, good luck with the surgery, a friend described a certain poster once as a "battering ram on the eyeballs"...so I sort of understand how you feel
I am happy to see that even those who don't especially like the new colors are keeping their sense of humor..without grinding those of us who do like it into the dust over our total non-fashion-sense in web site formats
Patrick, I have excellent peripheral vision, and that black and white Fodors doesn't bother me at all..I wonder why?
How many blue eyed people like this new format?
Scientific studies only!!

Scarlett, glad to hear I'm not the only one who is not bothered by the black Fodors box. I don't even really notice it much.

"How many blue eyed people like this new format? Scientific studies only!!"

Why? Is this some kind of Aryan survey?

Just joshing, of course! (Although I'm not quite sure I follow that question)

Interestingly enough, while walking back to my PC from across the room I noticed that the banner evoked the German flag. Yes, I know the red is off -- but still. And Fodors is owned by Random House which is parented by Bertlesmann, a German company.

Not that there's anything wrong with the colors of Germany - just wondering if there might be a connection with the Fodors branding colors.

Looking to fly from JFK to RSW end of April. So I do a search, some up with flitghts on Song for 200 each. Book two on miles, then go to pay for the other two, but now they are 350 each!!

Checking jetblue, 220 each direct. No wonder Delta is going out of business!!

No wonder but the people who run these airlines like Delta are total idiots! Just booked and paid for Jetblue and Delta lost more revenue!

Blue eyes here and that BLACK logo bothers my eyes. My first thought was '50s. I must say I liked the Fodors look of yesteryear with the elegant curved lines, blue colours and little flying fellow which, thank heavens, is more how this 'post a reply' screen looks. Going to find a post-it now to cover that black thing.
