Florida Keys

Looking for input on two Best Western properties:

Key Largo-Best Western
Key West - Hibiscus Best Western

Taking a trip next spring and want to book moderate priced hotels (don't want B&B). Has anyone stayed at either of these properties.

I've done a search on this site and these hotels don't seem to be mentioned. Looking to see if anyone has first hand comments.

Thanks.

Both are fine but it all depends on where you want to stay, meaning which island do you want to visit.

Sorry, that I was vague on that. We plan to stay at both. 4 nights in key west and 3 nights in key largo. Thanks for the input.

I would stay in one of the b&b's in Old Town before I stayed at the BW Hibiscus. It's an older building, not much character, clean. Do a text search on Key West and you will find lots of info...

He said he didn't want a B&B. I also would think both would be a fine choice.

Thanks for the responses. And no I don't want a B&B. I also like the idea that the Hibiscus BW is located just off of Duval St. on the "less" noisey side.

Any in put on the Key Largo property?

We've stayed there the past 6-7 years and think it's great. The lanais face the channel so there's always boat traffic to watch. The townhouse layout is neat, too - it feels more like a home than just a hotel room.

I've never stayed at the Best Western Hibiscus in Key West but I don't remember ever seeing any bad reviews of it. My impression is that it's nothing fancy but in a pretty good location and should do nicely for you if you're trying to stick will a less-expensive place to stay.

The Best WEstern Hibiscus is quite basic
and is the wrong end of Duval Street. When I stayed there in June one of the nice guests hit my car in the car park and when I asked at reception if anyone had reported it I was told they have a lot of drunks staying there

We just spent 4 days at Wyndham Casa marina in Key west and it was the best 4 days I ever spent away from home! Everything from room cleanliness to staff manners, private beach, restaurants - everyting was Excellent! it is at the far end of Duval but that is a $4 cab ride, and the hotel shuttel will take you downtown(but not bring you back). Watersports too - my teenage daughters and I had the best vacation ever, and I am taking my girlfriend back in 3 weeks!!!

Sorry to hear that Harold.

Did you see/hear a lot of drunks on the property while you were staying there?

Did the Hotel do anything about your car?

Does basic mean clean? and aside from the car problem, would you stay there again?

the hotel was clean and quite pleasant
and no i did not see any drunks on the property. The hotel did nothing at all
about my car and I would not stay there again because it really is a long way from the main part of Duval st.
