Florida HELP needed fast...

I have to decide very soon between the Beachcomber (Executive Level) in Pompano Beach OR the Sea Lord Hotel (1BR Apartment) in Lauderdale by the Sea. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, would either of these two locations be LESS likely to be full of college students during spring break?

Have you checked tripadvisor.com ?

I happened to have looked at the reviews and pictures of the Sea Lord just last night and it seemed highly appealing.

Based on a quick glance I just took of the Beachcomber on TA, the Sea Lord looks better to me.

It certainly would be interesting to hear from people who have experienced (or at least seen in person) both.

I don't think you'll find college kids in either of these locations. Without knowing who you are and who's going on this trip, it's impossible to advise you. These are 2 dramatically different properties. While I don't know either property, I'd chose the Lauderdale by the Sea location, extra space and low key atmosphere over Pompano, but you may not agree.

Thank you for the quick responses. We are a 50-year-old couple starting our trip at Key West for 3 nights then going to the Fort Lauderdale area for four nights (we are flying into FLL). Our main focus in Ft. Lauderdale is quiet beach time and some great seafood. LBTS really appeals to us; however, the fact that I need a good bed due to back issues has me interested in the Beachcomber since the Executive Level rooms have new pillow-top mattresses. Any other suggestions relating directly to the two properties and/or restaurant suggestions in either area would be greatly appreciated. I've done numerous searches here and elsewhere (my wife says I'm a fanatic but I really enjoy it) but I'm always looking for additional help.

Swaying Palms - good suggestion about Tripadvisor. Yes, I did. In fact, Tripadvisor is on my "Favorites" and my normal starting point for researching trips. Thanks for the suggestions.
