Florida boardwalk
I am looking to travel to Florida in early November with my kids and husband.
Looking for a town that has a boardwalk just like miami beach with ocean front hotels. I like the possibility of taking a stroller on it and having direct access to ocean.
Ideas?

We liked Hollywood Beach and its broadwalk. Very laid back and right on the beach, with lodging and restaurants but not overdone. You are also not far from a stop on Intercoastal Waterway, which is fun and interesting.

Hollywood Beach Broadwalk reminds some people of Coney Island, with better weather and prettier water.
I was there last weekend. Great ocean views, mix of people from young and stylish couples to groups of seniors to bikers and beggars.
Margaritaville lobby area reminded me of Atlantic City without the casinos but I am sure many people would enjoy visiting as Cheryl notes, above. Lots of lobby shops and bars, plus outdoor pools with bars. Spring-break-type clientele but with many families, as far as I could see.
The most interesting attraction for me was the organic market, open only on Sundays. Very good quality fruits and vegetables.
Lots of places to eat along the strip, but I only looked at menus and was not tempted to try any of them.
As you can probably tell, I was not enthralled, but it might fulfill the OPs quest.
There are many places that have walking or biking paths (not boardwalks) along the ocean and, to my mind, are prettier and less commercial. Delray, Jupiter, are two that come to my mind but I do not know the area very well, so perhaps many more..

Fort Lauderdale might do the trick, although you do have a street in between most of the hotels and the beach. I was there over Thanksgiving and stayed at the W Hotel. You basically walk out of the hotel, cross a street and then you can stroll along the beach on a walkway. Lots of hotels and restaurants lining the street.

I agree that Hollywood will give you exactly what you are asking for. I was there at the beginning of Feb and athough not really swimming weather it was very nice. I enjoyed walking on the broadwalk and would have liked to walk more but was only there for a few hours. There were bike riders and bike rental places so a stoller would be fine.
