I was there in February and ate at A Sabella's and Aliotos. Both were very very good.

As NewBe has stated the restaurants in the Wharf are geared towards tourists, featuring an enormous number of seafood dishes because that what is expected. As tourist restaurants they are priced accordingly. The reason that most locals don't like Wharf restaurants is because they are overpriced for the quality that you receive. Also there are so many wonderful places to eat in SF, that it is a shame that many visitors experience what is curned out at the Wharf.
Anyway, the only place I usually recommend in the Wharf, other than Gary Danko's, is Cafe Pescadero because it is more like a usual SF restaurant. However, I don't personally know anyone who has dined there in a couple of years.
If you go to one of the usual Wharf places, such as Aliotos, Scomas, Sabella, your best bet is to order something that is a fresh catch.
