Thanks for the info, Doc, especially the time involved. I don't think I want to spend that long on dinner this trip, but it sounds like it could be a fun time in the right circumstances.

Can anyone tell me anymore about the Spy Museum. Where is it located? How expensive is it? Can you walk to it if you are downtown? Thanks/

I went to the Spy Museum last August with two visiting cousins and it was interesting, BUT it was too crowded to be enjoyable.

One of the most moving museums I have ever been to is the Holocaust Museum in DC. I think it would be very educational for teens to see, to really understand the horrors of what happened during WWII.

Also try taking a duck tour...you are driven around DC in a "duck" vehicle that was used a lot during WWII. The best part is that the vehicle can float in water too (hence "duck"). You get some great views of the monuments from the Potomac so I highly recommend this tour.

How old? For younger kids, it might be too intense to see the full museum but there's an excellent side exhibit that's called "Daniel's Room" specifically for the younger set.

Make that Daniel's Story.

And I'd forgotten that no regular passes are needed.

Jaleo was delicious! My kids didn't want to eat there, so I went by myself. My waiter wasn't very helpful, but a woman at the table next to me made some suggestions. I don't remember the names, but will tell you what they were. One was sausage with white beans---delicious!! the other was baby eggplant in (I believe)rumesco sauce. It was well worth it and I would recommend to anyone in DC. Also, the Spy Musuem was nice, but a little pricey. Considering there is so much free here, $79 for 3 kids and 1 adult seemed like a lot. It was different though, interesting, and the kids really liked it.
