I second either the Belhurst, Geneva on the Lake, or Mirbeau. We have stayed at Belhurst and enjoyed it immensely. Beautiful architecture, nice rooms, and beautiful scenery. Geneva on the Lake is the most scenic of these 3 being right on the lake. Mirbeau is probably the most elegant and "posh" as well as Skaneateles being much prettier than Geneva, however, it is not ON the lake and is a bit of a walk down to the lake.
