Favourite buffet in LV plus reasonable good dining?
Okay, so not too innovative a topic and have read the postings on lvol.com, but would like your opinions..leaving in 2 weeks..best lunch or dinner buffet? Plus, any good restaurants worth going to that don't cost an arm and a leg(not Denny's quality, or is that an oxymoron?)

If you are looking for great food at budget prices, then you can't beat Ellis Island Casino. It's an older casino one block off the strip, and although it doesn't look like much, the quality of their food and the low prices (i.e.,large prime rib dinner for around $7), makes for very budget friendly dining.
Enjoy your trip!

I'd have to give the best dinner buffet to the Wynn now, it slightly beats the Bellagio. There is a huge selection of international food. And everything is very fresh. There is also a large selection of more exotic types of fruit and the sushi is tasty. There is also a nice selection of Indian food. For Sunday brunch I'd still give the nod to the Bellagio though. Wynn has just a little too much of breakfast food, I assume that is to help cut down costs.
Medium priced food includes Tsunami Asian cuisine at the Venetian as well as the Pinot Brasserie. You can get cheaper late lunches at Mon Ami Gabi. Then there's the Cheesecake Factory at Caesar's.

I've been to most if not all buffets in Las Vegas, and the best one is definitely the Bellagio's!
It's slightly more expensive than your average buffet in Vegas, but it's definitely worth it.
I've been to alot of different places around the world and I can tell you that the desserts at the Bellagio are some of the best I've ever had! especially if you like chocolate!

We were in Vegas three weeks ago and had breakfast buffet at Paris, lunch buffet at Mirage (excellent - we were quite surprised and pleased at this great buffet) and gourmet dinner buffet at Bellagio. I have to say, these buffets were each great with a wide variety of choices. You can't really make a mistake. Just to be clear, we did not have these buffets all on the same day - LOL!
We also had a great lunch at the Grand Lux Cafe in the Venetian. This restaurant is owned by the Cheesecake Factory and was very good and affordable.
Have fun!

Wow, thanks everyone! Now the Cheesecake Factory I have tried. Ellis Island, well I will look up that location right away..and maybe I will have to stretch out my decisions to more than one buffet..we are staying at the Bellagio, so definitely will do that buffet..thanks,again!

Probably in the minority here, but tried Bellagio's lunch buffet and was not terribly impressed (same for 3 others in party). The food SHOULD have tasted as good as the range of fairly expensive ingredients promised, but somehow, it didn't quite deliver. A few of the cold dishes were also frozen in the center (salmon rolls in particular, the sushi was ho-hum, the shrimp lacked flavor and seemed waterlogged, the boar ribs were fatty and cool, but the Chicken Wellington was excellent, and the smoked salmon sublime.
Add the harried waitress, and the atmosphere (or lack thereof), which is food service cafeteria.

I'm a big fan of the Bellagio buffet, go there for dinner at least once a year. The sushi is so-so, waste of stomach space. I go for the other seafood dishes, crab legs, kobe beef and beef wellington. And the desserts! If you want to tank up on champagne, oysters, and caviar, Bally's has a great brunch spread on Sunday that runs $75 with tax/tip. Also for reasonable good dining, I've found at casinos in general, you can often find good noodle bars, as they strive to accomodate Asian clientelle, and you can usually get a tasy meal for cheap. I've been to the one at MB many times and for $10 I consider it a steal for a quick cheap meal. For lunch, The Palm at Caesars has a $15 fillet mignon special and Commander's Palace has a 25 cent martini lunch special Mon-Thurs, so if you factor drinks in, it's a bargain.

I like Sunday Brunch at the Aladdin, lunch at the new Mirage and Treasure Island buffets, The Grand Luxe Cafe, Bertolini's for brick oven pizza (in Caesar's Forum Mall), Stage Deli for breakfast (also Caesar's Forum mall). I don't do the dinner buffets, the lines are too long and I can't sleep after trying so many different spicy dishes!

Agreed..when we went with our teens 5 years ago we took in the buffet at MB and at Caesars over the lunch hour(late)...it was cheaper for the four of us and less crowded and somehow, if you eat earlier, all that food has time to work itself away, ha,ha..thanks again for all the recommendations!
