Fashion Ettiquette

Hi,
I am going to Maui the end of October. Can I wear white shoes? In the midwest we follow the "no white after Labor Day" rule.

In resort locations, that rule is not followed.

White is more of a year around color.

I wear my white jeans all year long.

I'm glad you asked this question! I know about that dumb "no white shoes" rule but was going to risk getting caught by the fashion police on my upcoming visit anyhow.

Please!

You'll understand my response once you've arrived on the island and ease into the "island spirit of aloha." Believe me, no one cares about "who's seen in what" after Labor day.

Let your hair down, wear sunscreen and enjoy being away from home.

Even in Montana we don't wear white after Labor day cause if we fell you couldn't find us in the snow.

In Maui, no shoes is appropriate! Otherwise, white, sandals, slaps, golf shoes, dive shoes and running shoes are ok in all colors!!!!

God, I hate these fashion threads! Why am I even posting?? But I feel compelled to say that I live in the Midwest and see winter white here all the time--so "we" don't all follow that silly, outmoded rule, barkley! And for what it's worth, once you get a load of that island spirit, rules like that will fly out of your head and you will be left peaceful. Aloha, and enjoy!

Ah, but E, winter white is different than true white. Nevertheless, here in California we don't follow the "no white after labor day" rule either. It was 80 degrees outside today--feels like summer to me!

Color is not as important as fabric for where you live or visit. Dig it?

Let me just say that the first time I was on Maui, many years ago, I observed people who were picking up friends at the airport. They were wearing their bathing suits. Doesn't that say all you need to know?

Shoes? I never wear white Underwear after Labor Day! I do my laundry in the spring like everybody else. A little bleach really does the trick.
