Family Fun on Route 81?
We're planning a driving trip from Philadelphia to Cooperstown NY in late March, with our sons ages 10 and 12. We'll be driving up Route 81 from Wilkes-Barre, PA to Binghamton,NY with enough time to make a tourist stop or two along the way. Does anyone have suggestion for things to see or do in that area? Battlefields? Kid-friendly museums? historic sites? We're pretty flexible so all suggestions would be welcome.

well, I've driven that route a million times and I personally think it's one of the most boring stretches of road ever. I truly can't think of a single thing to see. I'll be interested to see what others come up with.

Another thumbs up for Steamtown, part of the National Park Service -- should be fascinating for boys of ALL ages!
An interesting stop in Binghamton would be the Clarion downtown, which was formerly the City Hall. More interesting is the Radisson in Scranton, which is the former Lackawanna Railroad Station (and HQ??).
