Fairmont Wailea

I would appreciate any feedback regarding the Fairmont-Wailea. I have stayed at other Fairmont properties and was impressed by the accomodations as well as the service.

Thanks.

Jim

Jim, if you type "Kea Lani" in the text search box you'll get dozens and dozens of opinions (recent ones) about the Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea.
It's one of the top 5 hotels in Maui.

I requested a cd from the Kea Lani and it really is great. We are staying there May 22-29 and I will post a report on my return.

Diane: What do you mean you requested a CD from the Kea Lani? I will be staying there on my honeymoon June 2-8. Hopefully, I will be able to read your post before we go.

I read on one of the boards that Kea Lani will send you a CD showing their resort and rooms. I went to their website and emailed a request for the CD. It has video of rooms, restaurants, grounds, island tour. It's free for asking and they send it right out to you.

We stayed at the Kea Lani on our honeymoon and it was fantastic. The hotel itself is wonderful and Wailea is beautiful. The only thing we were disappointed about was Nick's restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it.

My husband and I stayed at the Kea Lani last Sept. We had a great time! The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed rotating amongst the pools! We also spent time on the beach. The service is good, the rooms are large (all suites!) and the area provides lots of restaurant options.

Hi did anyone stay in the Kilohana suite? It is suppose to be a corner suite with a wrap around lanai. Can you rent Cabanas at the pool area? Do you have to get up early in the am to secure a place at the pool? Thanks

Can't help you with the suite question. Yes, you can reserve pool cabanas at the Kea Lani. They charge you an extra $40 a day for this. Do reserve early however, because there aren't too many of these. You will not have to get up early to reserve other spots, as the Kea Lani has lots of pool space and many pool chairs.

You might be thinking about the Four Seasons in Wailea. There the pool cabanas are reserved on a first come first served basis, with no additional charge. When I stayed there, I got up at 6 am to reserve a pool cabana in a choice spot. I would read a book until 7am, when the pool attendants could officially register you. I don't know if that is a better system, but at least pool cabanas are available to all.
