Will you have a car??? Princess Lodge, River's Edge and Pikes are all good properties. Where is the All Seasons?? There are several excellent B&B's in Fairbanks, including Minnie St- close to downtown and Fox B&B north.

The All Seasons B&B is downtown.
I wasn't planning on renting a car since we'll only be there for one day but everything does seem spread out. Was hoping to rely on tours (Riverboat) and public transportation. I've reserved at Pikes Waterfront. Do you still recommend a car? Thx

Absolutely - Fairbanks needs a car, my opinion only. With the cost of the "tours" you can probably rent the car for the same price. Public transportation is not the most convenient and you will be limited to their service areas.

Our family stayed at Pikes in February for a couple of nights before and after our trip to a lodge in Bettles. It was very convenient and a nice place. We did want to get around a bit to do some shopping (souvenier stuff for the kids) and also visit the museum at the University. On our first day we took taxis so we checked into renting a car on our return. It was about the same as the taxi fares and we obviously much more flexibility.
