Exploring Oregon for 10 days

Hi

Im looking forward to travel Redwood Forest, Oregon for 10 days in September 1st week. We are a family of 6 with 2 kids below 5 yrs. I need suggestions and modifications if any on my tentative plan. Our interests are scenic views, minimum hike.
I stay at CA so attractions on the way to Redwoods might cover later.
Starting from San Francisco to Redwoods, stay there for 2 nights and then start to Coos Bay and then Cannon Beach, not sure though but stay somewhere between Canon Beach and Portland. Check out Portland attractions for 2 days and then go to Mt Rainier then to Mt Hood taking Columbia Gorge Drive and come to Craters Lake and then Mount Shasta and return home. Will I be able to travel this path in 10 days. I would like to camp at Redwoods and any other if available otherwise AirBnb or Vacasa.

my interest were to explore Seattle as well but not sure if it fits my plan.

Need ur guidance and suggestions. Thank u 😊

Please give a bit more detail... I sounds like you are driving from somewhere in California (where?) through the Redwoods, up the Oregon Coast, northern Oregon, bit of Washington, possibly Seattle, then Crater Lake and Mount Shasta before returning to wherever in California wit two very young children.

Where you are starting from and returning to makes a big difference -- but in any case that is a lot in just 10 days. Even cutting Seattle (which would be necessary as you suspect) IMO that is too much in 10 days. I'd think it would be a minimum of 35 hours car time from say San Francisco and back, and probably more depending on your specific route)

Sunnyvale to just those few places and back would take even a bit longer. Too much/too far.

Consider flying up to Portland (or Seattle), renting a car and just doing the Portland, Columbia River, Oregon coast, Redwoods. and end up in the Bay area. Would still be a little bit rushed but much better than trying to drive round trip. It would cost more of course with the flight and rental car - but it would be a much easier trip.

Meant to add - with just a couple or even with an infant your plan would be a little more doable because you can drive for longer periods. But with a toddler and 5 year old it would be very difficult.

I don't know what to suggest, other than to say you are trying to cover way too much ground in too short a time frame.

A great place to stay between Cannon Beach and Portland is McMinnville. Great for wine tasting but also lots of great hikes.

Depending on your style of "camping" you could stay at one of several Oregon State park yurts which are in the campgrounds. Two of my favorites are Sunset Bay and William Tugman. On January 1 this year I did a polar bear swim at Sunset Bay. There are 5 yurts and a nice campground at Champoeg State Park near Newburg. Champoeg (Sham-poo-ee) is where the state of Oregon was chartered on February 14, 1859.
There have been several large forest fires (and still are) in Oregon with large amounts of smoke blocking some of our great scenery. The coast and the Portland area should be smoke free.
William Tugman State park is along US 101 near the Oregon Dunes.

Their trip starts today. I wonder what they decided, but probably they have an itinerary and reservations made.
