Englewood Florida area restaurants

I'm looking for suggestions for someplace special where I might purchase a gift certificate to give as a Christmas present.

Englewood is midway between Sarasota and Fort Myers.

Thanks!

Crow's Nest in Venice (on the North Jetty near Nokomis) is one of my parents favorite restaurants near there. We are going there for X-mas dinner. How long of a drive from Englewood are you willing to consider? Its not far to Venice

Found the website for the Crow's Nest.

http://www.crowsnest-venice.com/

What kind of food are you looking for?

My mom lives in Englewood. You may want to try Boca Royale Restaurant.

Right in Englewood is the Gulf View Grille which has excellent food and a really nice atmosphere. I believe there is a pianist on the weekends.

I am looking more for someplace unique, rather than a particular type of food. Leaning a bit toward fine dining, but a unque ethenic place would be great.

The people I am shopping for are fantastic cooks and I try to find a place with an atmosphere or something they wouldn't already fix better.

As far as distance, an half hour drive or so.

Thanks for the sugestions so far!

You might want to look at Ophelia's On The Bay in Sarasota.

Ophelia's looks intriguing. Oddly, the only page on their website that is working is the home page.

Keith,

I, too, went to the website. Odd. I should say that I have never been to Ophelia's. It was suggested to me when I was looking for a special place to take my mom.

So, topping here in hopes to find someone who may know if Ophelia's is still open.

Yes. Ophelia's on the Bay is open as usual. I called to double check, and the manager was surprised that the website isn't working, but he tried it and agree that something is wrong with it today.
Going the other way. I highly recommend the Pink Elephant on Boca Grande -- an interesting side trip from Englewood.

It's been a few years, but we loved the Pink Elephant on Boca Grande, and what a great place to walk around too!
