Empire Hotel
Has anyone stayed at the Empire Hotel on 63rd & Broadway? My husband & I are going to be in New York for a company dinner on 12/5, departing evening of 12/6. (It was $219 on express-res.com.) The location looks great, but we were curious about the rooms, service.

hi. i did stay there for 4-5 nights in august..its not the best hotel in town, but i think you are not going to stay inside all the time, its a bit run down, but more than ok.the rooms is not that small, and the plus is that thay have a cd-player in every room, it was clean, frendly staff, and they have a safty-box..we had a great wiew over lincon-center, and as you mention, the location is great. just a few min to the park, and time sq...i think the price you got have to be wrong,,its more like earl30 said, about 100 us.. there is a gym around the block, that the people at empire can use, the price is 10 us.im going back to nyc in des or january, and i will stay the again.

Hi all~
Express-res.com is a discount hotel booker. I go to NYC every Dec and that price isn't overly shocking to me...last year I stayed at the Flatotel for $199 and the year before was the Paramount for $199. The rate hike is not only due to it being December, but the night of the 5th seems to be VERY booked up in NYC this year. The Comfort Inn on the upper west side was $350ish and the Howard Johnsons on 51st was even higher! My company foots the bill and the $219 was approved, so my only concerns are clean room and service. We are going to be at the hotel long enough to drop our bag, change for dinner later, and sleep. The next day we'll be out playing in NYC before our flight. Thanks for the feedback!
