We were there to play the roof top mini golf in the spring. It was o.k., but it is really not on the stretch of Kaanapali Beach that the rest of the resorts are. It is kind of on its own, up toward Kahana, probably half way between the two (Kaanapali and Kahana)I didn't see the beach here, but I have read on previous posts that there is not a lot to it. It was a little dated, with a sort of pink/80's feel to it. There were a lot of families, the pool was fairly crowded and not that big, but it did have a nice lava rock waterfall type feature. The lobby was fairly nice. It really had a sort of Holiday Inn typr of feel to it, that is not necessarily a bad thing but I find they bill themselves as luxurious and really it was not. The biggest down side for me would have to be the location.

My family stayed there for a week the summer of 2001. We loved it. The suite was large and comfortable with a luxurious bathroom. The pool was loads of fun with a waterslide even the adults were lining up for. The breakfast every morning was good with plenty of crispy bacon (our favorite part). It did not feel isolated at all. - Only a short drive to Lahaina and a good central location for touring the whole island - and we did! I say, "Go for it!"

We stayed next door at the Maui Kai and while I cannot speak for the Embassy property itself, we loved the area. It seemsd more resort-like with less crowds then the Whalers Cove area. It also was a shorter drive to our favorite beach, Napili Bay! Enjoy!

We stayed there on our honeymoon in '96. It was out dated and the breakfast felt like a cattle call. If they haven't updated the resort recently, I would recommend somewhere else. We actually left half way through our trip and moved to the Kea Lani. It is in Waleia (something like that), and is gorgeous. Probably more expensive. I would recommend staying on the major strip. We've also stayed at the Marriot and it is very nice. The Sheraton seems nice and has great snorkeling on it's beach. Hope this helps.

I would only stay at the Embassy Timeshare if you get a really low rate, have kids with you, can't afford something better, and don't mind the poor beach and high level of family traffic there.
