Effects of storm in Ogunquit??

We were planning a few days next week for the southern coast of Maine and Portland but after all this rainy weather wanted to know is it feasible to go now or should we put it off a while. We are retired and thus flexible. We also will be driving there from New York. Will we be able to take boat tours and walk the Marginal Way? really appreciate any input on the effects of the storm. Thanks.

I am also interested in this since we are going on the 27th of June. I read on one of the websites (Kennebunkport, I think)that the media reports of damage were erroneous (sp)
Anybody with first hand experience?

Priority Number One for the areas that had any flooding at all was cleaning up to be ready for tourist season. Whole communities pitched in to make that happen and all systems are "Go"...except for this drizzle that's been dragging on. Enjoy your vacation and pul-lease bring the sunshine with you!

Metoo
I am really good at parting the clouds. Look for sunny days starting the morning of the 28th.
Are you in Ogunquit?

Thanks metoo. We can't control the weather but I sure am going to try. We'll leave the trip until next week. It's 40 degrees here this morning in upstate New York. The "drizzle" seems endless.

I went to Ogunquit the week after the big Mother's Day (Week) Flooding. Marginal Way had been patched up in some spots & was fine for walking. A few businesses (basement) in Perkins Cove were flooded but rugs were ripped out & businesses were well on their way to being operational for Memorial weekend. If we ever get anymore sunshine here, then Ogunquit would be the perfect place. In terms of the storm, things, as well as route 1, are now patched up. Hope this helps

Yes thank you CityOfRefuge. It's great to have a first hand account. After a few trips abroad we're anxious to spend (and enjoy) our travel greenbacks in the beautiful good old USA.
