I see from their website that Boston Duck Tours operates thru 11/28. We'll be in NE Thanksgiving week and would love to take the tour.

Has anybody taken the tour this late in the season? Is it still enjoyable, just cold?(They say that all vehicles are heated, but they are still wide open.)

November is an especially interesting month in Boston, weather-wise. You could encounter anything from 80 degrees to, occasionally, snow.

Whatever the weather, the Duck Tour is a lot of fun if you just dress for it.

The vehicles are not wide open. There is a plastic "cover" with windows that you can unzip.

I have lived in Boston for my entire life and can tell you that it is HIGHLY unlikely that it will be 80 degrees at the end of November and it will very likely be very cold and gray. And snow occurs a little more than occasionally in Boston in November. Bundle up anyways and enjoy the tour.

I've done the duck tour in November and was not cold (just don't sit on the outside seats). just wear a decent coat and bring pair of mittens and a scarf. I've lived in New England all of my life and have never seen 80 degrees in November. Perhaps 60 in a rare case...

I would definitely concur that it will likely be cold, gray, dreary in late November, but - you just never know - could be sunny and a bit more pleasant.

One problem, exacerbated with the vinyl "sides" down, is the exhaust fumes, particularly while in the water.

Even so, the Duck Tours are a joy. And, a splendid tour (quite amusing, too) of Boston.

My recommendation would be to consider the contingencies, check the weather forecast upon arrival (or just before departure), and book through your Concierge (one day notice required) rather than prepay online or stand in line for tickets.

Be aware that they only sell a certain percentage of tickets in advance. So, if you're unable to get them, don't fret, as there will seats available on your day.
PS: We had had the vinyl sides down on our trip and didn't smell any fumes.
