Driving help for Arizona and new mexico this week.

I am trying to decide the best route for driving from Los Angeles to albuquerque on Thursday. I can drive th 40 thru Kingman Az, Flagstaff and on into Albuquereque, or take a longer, more indirect route thru Phoenix. Anyone out there in this area with an opinion? The weather looks clear on weather.com. Thanks.

I am not sure why you would want to go via PHX? Are you trying to do this in 1 day?

I would take the most direct route, if your intent is simply to get from LA to ABQ. Flagstaff can be snowy, just check weather first.

I am in ABQ, do you need any info on anything?

I of course, meant to vote for just taking I 40 straight across. {And here in NM, we dont use "the" in front of 40. Just 40 or I 40, but never THE 40.

I want to take 40 straight across in 1 day. That is the goal. I'm just slightly concerned with the driving conditions. Skies look clear per weather.com.

I'm driving to detroit with my 21 year old son and we are going to make it to Albuquereque to my cousins house for 2 days. The plan is to leave here by 7 am and drive straight thru,

Take 40 - you should be fine. Weather is forecasted to be good here in ABQ next 2 days, Flagstaff too.
