Driving from DC to Colorado with a 7 month old. Am I crazy?

Oh, Janisj and Gretchen, you are both absolutely correct!
Don't have a clue where I came up with the three year old.
They certainly would be lugging a 7 month old around. Unless they put him in a stroller, so yet another seat.

To me this is a no brainer - just get air tickets and get there right away.
Weeks not months can actually mean days not weeks - you just don't know - MDs are not god. If this is really important pack a bag and go this weekend.
As for the baby, I think he is likely going to be unhappy either way - but better unhappy for a short time flying than unhappy for 3 days each way in the car - with the two of you ready to pull you hair out - and very possibly driving with dangerously little sleep, esp on the way back.
