Drive to Yellowstone - How long (really) from 80 to Twin Falls?

So we are hoping to make it from Carson City to Twin Falls Idaho in one (long) day. I know the mileage, but I'm wondering, "How long does it really take to drive form Hwy 80 (near Wells) up to Twin Falls Idaho? How is the drive in the late afternoon or early evening?

And how long do you think it would really take to drive from Twin Flls up to West Yellowstone? (I undrstand there is construction on one of the main roads, so our drive from West Yellowstone to Roosevelt Lodge could take a while.)

Thanks for your insights!

And I left out that we'll be coming form Carson City that day and plan to take a left around Wells, NV.

Carson City to Twin Falls is 475 miles is about 8 hours of driving time. Twin Falls to West Yellowstone is 270 miles and about 4 1/2 hours of driving time. Those are very do able days. We drove this route last September and the roads are good.

Utahtea - I sure do appreciate your input. Nice to have someone familiar with the area to confirm what the AAA map says.
Thank you, thank you!

Any ideas on breakfast in Twin Falls or lunch in West Yellowstone?

We have great breakfasts and lunch in our motorhome....oh wait....we won't be there....sorry.

All I have is a great place to get your windsheild fixed in Pocatello, Idaho and where to get groceries in Idaho Falls.

Hi suz24,

We like to get groceries and any other supplies at the Walmart Superstore at 500 South Utah Avenue in Idaho Falls. they have a great assortment, plenty of fresh produce and anything else we've needed. I think it's exit 118 and turn right on West Broadway (Hwy 91 & Hwy 20). There's also a Phillips Gas station you will pass that we fill up at 1300 W. Broadway Street.
