Cheapest booze for your room: Run to one of the liquor stores on the strip(there are TONS!), get your beer, liquor, club soda, blah blah. Then use your ice bucket to chill the stuff you want cold. You can call housekeeping and they'll bring you up an extra bucket or two.
Hubby always buys beer and keeps it this way when we go. When he's sitting there bored out of his skull waiting for me to get ready he just cracks one open and I don't have to hear him whine for a few minutes.

For good value drinks and great people-watching, go to Barbary Coast.
A margarita at the bar will cost $1-$2 depending on how they like the look of you and as the evening wears on, the club downstairs gets hopping. The people walking around are a hoot to watch.
If you like Lemon Drops, go to the Fontana Bar at Bellagio (same corner) For $8, you'll have the best one you've ever tasted and get to watch a little entertainment. Dress nice.
