Downtown Atlanta

I will be staying at the Residence Inn downtown in a few weeks. Can anyone tell me what attractions are in walking distance? How far to underground Atlanta and what do they have there now? Any recommendations on close restaurants? Thanks!

You can walk to the Aquarium and CNN Center from your hotel. Downtown restaurants include a McCormick ams Schmicks, Ted's Montana Grill, and a Morton's Steak House to name a few.

Thanks. I did go to McCormick and Shmicks and Ted's Montana Grill. Both were excellent! Will try Morton's another time

In case someone else is reading..forget Underground Atlanta! It hasn't been a place any sober person has visited since the '96 Olympics.

Couldn't agree more about Underground Atlanta. I did go and spent all of 15 minutes there. It was pitiful - dirty and scary. I would definitely not go there at night.

MLK National Park is so worthwhile, our favorite Atlanta experience.
