Once I did not read a car rental contract carefully (yes, there were lots of good reasons at the time) and I learned my lesson. The price was way more than my reservation amount, but because I had signed for it, I had no recourse.

I don't think there is much difference between Dollar and the other budget agencies where these matters are concerned. They are all trying to nickel and dime you to death and your only defense is to print out your paperwork and maintain eternal vigilence, no matter how tired, sleep-deprived, or in a hurry you are.
