Dollar rent a car... Problems?

Hello, i've just reserved a car at Dollar near to LAX. I would like to know if someone had problems with them during the rental time.
I've heard about problems with their cars (technical, engine and others). I heard that the cars were old and not very "clean". I will probably have a Chrysler Sebring Convertible.
Could someone tell me his experience about this company and what about this rumor on Dollar? Is it true or not?

I think they are not worst than other . i can believe that a company could be such lacsist with they customers, specially in the USA. they rent cars for years so i think they're serious.

thanks for all informations you could give to me.

Hi--unfortunately, your same question posted 3 times and so when you are checking for answers, you are going to have to be certain that you look at all 3 of them for replies....

I use Dollar quite frequently at SFO and have never had a problem. They often have rates that are much better than the bigger guys.

I usually rent from Dollar on frequent trips to San Jose, CA. Never had a problem, the rates are good, the counter and "lot guys" were super friendly and usually get a very new car. However..on any given day at any car rental the experience can vary.

I've used Dollar in various US cities and have never had a problem. I've always been happy and continue using them in all my travels in the US.

Regardless of the company I always check the air pressure in all tires including the spare. Have been caught too many times with low pressure. Once had a blowout due to same. Also check the windshield fluid level and for chipped windshield glass and on the covers over the headlights. If you don't point it out before you leave, you may be held responsible for someone else's damage.

I don't know about Dollar, but I would avoid Hertz. They currently claim to "guarantee" the car you book but it's a total sham. Don't waste your money.

I use Hertz quite frequently at SFO and many other places and have never had a problem. They often have rates that are higher than the smaller guys, so shop around.
