Have to admit that I haven't read all of this thread as I came into it very, very late but...

My name is Cathy and I'm a Fodor's addict. And, yes, my family teases me unmercifully.

Fun thread, P_M! I guess I've met a couple dozen fodorites by now, and have really enjoyed the experience. Several have become good enough friends to plan more social events or personal visits. I think it is amazing and wonderful how the internet connects us.

A couple of my friends have used this forum as a research resource, but none have become regular posters. Friends have expressed surprise that I was actually going to meet people I only knew online, but not of the "fear for your life" variety.

Anyway, I look forward to meeting more fodorites as the opportunity arises. Anybody going to be in Paris Sept 22-29?

Well, in less than a week, I will meet some fellow Fodorites

We told our sons last night, ya know, just in case someone pulls out their axe

A few years ago there was a thread where everyone guessed a description of a poster. Few got it right. That was reminded to me when on Saturday there was a Fodors GTg and a woman told me how I was described-a guess by her friend. LOL

I didn't take pictures there's a brief report on the Asia board because that was the majority of the attendees. But I must say they were all so nice. I think that , at least at my table there were only AGM and her sweet friend (whose name I always forget), and I drinking wine. Maybe 12:30 lunch is not ready for most

Mimi, I remember that thread! I was still pretty new here and found it quite fascinating to see how others pictured some of the regular posters compared to the image I had in my mind.

Hmmm, I wonder what people think I look like, lol.

Glad you GTG was enjoyable, cigalechanta!

I suspect when one has a strong imput like Mariyln and me, and others, they picture us as tall...lol. I'm 5'2'
And I was described as wearing red, a color I hate on me. I like earth colors and sea glass colors for summer.
No one I met ever looked like what I imagined and I'm glad because I found real nice interesting people who I will see again and again.

True, Razzle, but Mrs. Kal doesn't actually post here. (That's my excuse for forgetting her, anyway.)

Mimi, Mrs. Kal and I had a big debate about who was taller (shorter?) and we measured and everything, but since there was a lot of wine involved, I can't remember the outcome!

Not me, Scarlett!

I was always that awkward, lanky girl in middle school...it's amazing how my perspective on height has changed as I've gotten older. I can reach all the top cabinets in my kitchen! Woo-hoo! I sometimes have the opposite problem that Mimi has though, with sleeves and pants being too short.

Oh, and to answer the original question, I've met plenty of fodorites and I feel honored to have met each and every one of them, although my DH refused to go to a GTG with me!
