Hi ? just trying to work out logistics. How far is the drive from Kona airport to the Waikola Hilton. How far is the drive from Honolulu airport to Waikiki? How much would a taxi cost from honolulu airport to Waikiki?

Finally, is there something to do near honolulu airport during a three hour layover with 2 kids ages 7 and 12?

for driving directions from KOA airport to Hilton Waikoloa, it should be less than 30 minutes, approximately 20 miles or so.

The cab from HNL to Waikiki is, I believe, $28. You can find more info from the HNL web page.

Oh, and it's about 20 minutes.

From Kona airport to the Hitlon turnoff, it's at a traffic signal,
About 20 miles up the road. The car rental company told me 27 miles and it wasn't. Watch for the big palms and a three way signal, maybe Kings shops signs, I can't remember. I can tell you better in 19 days!

Beachkomer I guess you are going soon. I still have to wait 11 months! Yikes! But I was making my interisland reservations using FF miles and those have to be done so far ahead of time. I wanted to make sure I had the logistics correct. Have a great time and please post a trip report.

This is embarassing, it's my 4th trip to Hawaii, and I wouldn't be going back so soon, (we just went in May) but I am an Ironman Fan, and am going over for my third watching of the race. This one is the big 25th Anniversary. I am going to Oahu for two days and then to the Big Island for 6 nights at the Hilton, Priceline= $125/night, and 3 nights in a condo at Kanaloa at Kona. I am counting down the days!!! Roy's, here I come!
