Can anyone recommend a great hotel outside of the Magic Kingdom?

How many people are in your party? What are you looking for?

I've stayed at the Country Inn & Suites in Lake Buena Vista that was quite nice - if you want to you can walk to the Downtown Disney area, there are restaurants nearby, and if you are traveling with kids - they even have a "kid suite" which includes bunkbeds in a seperate area. Continental breakfast is also included.

Check out wdwinfo.com or wdwig.com. Both sites have info and comments about hotels outside of Disney. I've only stayed on site or at the airport. The hotels in the area of the aiport were fine but a good 20 minutes drive to WDW or Universal. There are dozens of hotels in Orlando - in every price range and level of comfort. Expedia has good information also.

hey, do some research on the past threads, jennifer. it's been done ad nauseum.

We're in Florida visiting WDW right now. We're staying at the Fairfield Inn at Marriott Village very close tot the park. There's all kinds of restaurants from Landry's Fish House to McDonald's very close. And this hotel was very reasonable. These are 3 hotels on this property - Fairfield Inn, Courtyard and Springhill Suites. Good luck!!!

I think I saw a Disney All Star Resort going for $49 a night. Other great rates listed there also!

We love the Homewood Suites. They are a mile from Disney and it a great hotel and even comes with a very nice breakfast.

The best hotel we've stayed at was the Hyatt Grand Cypress Resort at Lake Buena Vista...exquisite resort but pricey. You don't want to leave this one...

I second the Hyatt Grand Cypress. We stayed there for a week last year & thought it was great. Is close to all the parks.
