I was just wondering if anyone can help me out...i am going to san diego from june 16-22 this year (2005) and we are planning on going to disneyland one day and were looking at when the best day aka least busiest day would be...i am unsure when schools finish in the united states but here in canada most are done at the end of june...if someone could help me out and let me know when the best day would be to go that woul be great. thanks a bunch.

Well, I would plan on going on Thursday or Tuesday, if only to avoid fighting those families whose parents are making a three-day weekend with Friday or Monday. Disneyland will be busy pretty much throughout the year due to 50th anniversary celebrations (I'm still trying to figure out when I will be going, but then again I live 20 minutes away), so just accept it and go.

By the way, leave San Diego very early. Say, 6:30 AM. I'd get to Anaheim as early as possible, grab a light breakfast, and then park and start the fun. The drive from SD should take 90 minutes or so, although you'll hit some rush hour traffic. Oh well....

My vote is for Tuesday. This is the exact time when school ends -- this weekend (some the Friday before and some the week after. Also keep in mind that a huge number of So. Californian Senior Grad nights take place at Disneyland, and the park may very well be closed for grad nights or painfully crowded with excited teens. I suggest you call the park to determine if there are any closures or if any specific night or nights will be "grad nights".

I'd recommend Monday-Wednesday as the least crowded. Saturdays definitely the worst.

Disney web site shows the shortest posted opening hours are the 16th, 22nd & 23rd. That usually indicates a lower expected attendance but I'd check to be sure there isn't a grad night on one of those dates.

Disneyland will have the shorter hours when there is a grad night scheduled as the park will close and then re-open again later for the grads.

We were at Disneyland yesterday, it was hellaciously crowded.
