dinner near Embassy Suites
My husband and I will be bringing our 12 year old son to the Yankees game next weekend. We are arriving on Thursday evening, staying at the Embassy Suites. Does anyone have amy recommendations for a good place for a late dinner within walking distance (<1 mile) from the hotel. Italian would be great, but we'll eat anything. Thanks!

Not sure what you're calling late, but Samantha's is the best Italian option nearby but they're only open til 9.

Gigino's has a very nice view and ok food.

Southwest is not Italian, but a good option for casual American/southwest less than 1/2 mile away.

Yes, as always, Mclaurie has a good point, what do you mean by late?
But I have to disagree about Gigino, she may be suggesting the branch that is down at Wagner Park, but I think the food at the the 323 Greenwich Street location (about 8 blocks from your hotel) is really quite good.
I think you will have better luck walking over to the Tribeca neighborhood - very many upscale and reasonable restaurants are there, which is about a third of a mile from the Embassy Suites. Some of my favorites are: The Harrison, Yaffa cafe, Salaam Bombay, Blaue Gans, bread, Landmarc, Nobu Next Door, Pepolino, Mai House, Petite Abeille, odeon, . . . all of those mention are quite kid friendly (we have a teenager).
You can use www.menupages.com to check out addresses, menus and hours . . .

Thanks for the suggestions. I suspect we will be eating between 9:00 and 10:00, so by late I mean a place that is open until 10:00. I need a little time to shop to work up an appetite!!!
