what is the difference between a mediterranean diet and the pescatarean diet?

nope, non intended. they both seem to eschew meat, and eat seafood and veggies.

I don't agree that a Mediterranean diet = no meat. For example, look at the preponderance of lamb in many countries on the Mediterranean - greek, turkish, etc.

No - Mediterranean diet includes red meat (just usually not every day and in large amounts) - but focuses more on fish and chicken. Also has lots of veggies and fruits and uses olive oil versus butter or other animal fats.

Probably because somebody on another thread threw the word into their post. It was all about learning how to dress themselves in public and whether or not their hubby needed a necktie. If the truth were known a less pretentious eating partner would be more like it.

A pescatarian diet is simply one with fish and everything else. A med diet prefers olive oil over butter , minimizes dairy and also is light on potatoes and other simple starches, and includes all animal proteins in small to moderate amounts.
