Dial 7 limousine service

The Dial 7 site (which is being very cantankerous today) asks for the number of pieces of luggage but doesn't distinguish between suitcases and carry-ons. If I enter 4 pieces, the site says I need a minivan--but for 2 suitcases and 2 small carry-ons? We want a luxury sedan (so good legroom in the back, the lack of which is why I avoid taxis), not a minivan. Is it best to call rather than book on-line?

Well, this may not be helpful to you, but IMO a carry on is akin to a handbag and therefore does not count toward a luggage piece count. I'd list two pieces, but calling would make everything perfectly clear, of course.

I don't know about Dial 7 specifically, but IME (in London, NYC, SF etc) when they ask for number of pieces of luggage they mean full size suitcases. In fact my limo drivers in both London and at SMF said they really only mean checked sized bags. I travel w/ just a 20 inch rollaboard and and handbag and both drivers said I should have entered 0 in the number of bags field.

We always use Carmel and only list the pieces of luggage, the suitcases. I assume Dial7 is similar in this regard.

When they ask for the number of luggage pieces, you should only put in the checked luggage, not the carry-ons.

But double-check prices. Carmel is generally significantly cheaper than Dial 7 these days and just as reliable.

I'll have a look; thanks. I chose Dial 7 because of the many good reviews on another site.

When they ask for the number of luggage pieces, you should only put in the checked luggage, not the carry-ons.

So if you had 4 26" suitcases, and 4 20" carryons, you wouldn't tell them in advance?

I would call to be sure you get exactly what you want. If you ask for a luxury vehicle they sometimes send a Cadillac SUV - so if a large sedan is a must call and make sure.

The thread is from September. I think the OP's trip is over.

We did use Dial 7, and the carry-ons weren't counted as luggage. Just FYI. But with a total of 8 pieces of luggage, you might find that the standard town car would get pretty crowded. How many passengers?
