Detroit Opera House - Hotel needed
Is it possible these days to stay in a nice hotel for under $100. We have tickets to see Il Divo in Detroit and would like to stay near the Opera House to avoid more travel and parking. Most of the hotwire, expedia say around $170 a night.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I doubt that you will find anything "nice" during the week at that price in downtown Detroit. It sounds like you are driving in. You could head out to the burbs - it's a fairly easy hop north on I-75 - only about 20 minutes to Troy or Auburn Hills. You could find a Comfort Inn or something similar around $100 for that price. I'll be happy to offer more if you want it.

Though the options to use priceline or stay outside detroit don't satisfy the original question (wanting to be within walking distance of opera theater), they may be the only way to stay in that budget.
One thing you could try is to see what hotels come up on priceline for detroit proper to see if it's worth risking a bid. The area is large enough that you're not guaranteed to be close enough to walk to the opera theater, but at least it would be a short drive, or even take a cab.
