Denver/Red Rock

Will be in Denver only one night for concert at Red Rocks. Trying to find out how far it is to airport & also from locations like Denver West, Cherry area & downtown. Which of these areas would be best to stay in for a late night concert & an early morning flight? Would prefer hotel opposed to motel hopefully one that is not too outdated-been looking at the Marriott(is the Marriott West -also the downtown Marriott?) & also maybe the Loews Denver, Hyatt & Sheraton. Also might consider Sheraton Four Points. Do any of these seem better one way or the other? Are we going to miss out on any really scenicneat places to stay doing this? Thanks for any help.

Marriott West would put you close to I-70 and the fast track to the airport. It's also close to Red Rocks, which is nice after a late concert. I would say go with that, as opposed to the downtown Marriott (my next choice given the hotels you listed). Downtown is great--lots of restaurants, etc., but you're really not going to have much time for that if you're going to a concert.

Not sure how early the flight is.. I agree I would probably stay in Denver West (not scenic - but convenient). Alternatively, depending on how late the concert ended, I'd drive to a hotel on Tower Rd. which is very near the airport and means you'll have no AM traffic. Late at night that is about a 20-25 minute drive.

Thanks for replies-I have reserved the Marriott West which I think is a pretty good choice. Other one I was strongly considering was the Loews-not sure if dated or not-anyway-I am doing like 5 states-getting tired! Never done this many! What we do to please our children this one takes the cake! Ha! Love the fireplace in lobby of Marriott West-looking for that "Southwest" feel! Appreciate the help-plane I see now is early afternoon, but still have to return car by noon (tough getting son up after concert & probably me also!)so maybe miss Mon.rush hour. Not as bad as I thought (that was Salt Lake flight )Thanks again.

I think you made the right choice. Loews is nice but right smack dab in the middle of town. Traffic would not be your friend there! Have a great time.

If the flight is early afternoon - and if you have time before or after the concert to explore, I might change the hotel. Personally, I would go up to Evergreen to the Quality Inn (about 10 minutes from Red Rocks - but much prettier than Denver West)... or I might go into LoDo (15 minutes from Red Rocks). Denver West is convenient - but not very attractive.

The Loews location wouldn't suit you. It's in a nondescript strip, and not close to anything.
